F accepts writing (nonfiction personal essays, journalism, short fiction, etc.) and artwork (design, photography, paintings, drawings, digital artwork, collage, etc.)  for the print magazine on an ongoing basis.

Journalism: Any piece of journalism should be based on information from credible sources, and take a focused look at a particular topic. We encourage our journalists to employ personal voice and experience to outline a subject. For example, to illustrate the correlation between theft, poverty, and the unemployment rate, introduce the piece with an anecdote about your stolen bike. Journalistic pieces should be well-rounded. Have fun, use the occasional expletive and make your points clear and interesting.

Personal essays: Stories published as personal essays should be compelling, accessible, evocative, honest, and no more than 3,000 words. If they’re funny and to-the-point, F editors may fall in love with you.

Please peruse our media kit to get a brief description on each section of F.
