Run for Congo Women PDX. 7.23.2011

Our team sponsored 4 women in the Congo and raised the most out of all of the teams at this year’s Run for Congo Women! In total the event raised $25,000. The 5K walk and run was on Saturday, July 23 at Willamette Park. The inspirational day included a lively bout of warm-ups, letter writing to Congolese women, music, and refreshments.

The event benefits Women for Women International programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where it is said to be the worst place on earth to be a woman.
